| The group held a morning
meeting in a conference room at a West End Hotel followed
by a buffet lunch prior to the afternoon activity. The
day was a celebration of recent achievement and a future
planning whilst also giving new members of the team
a chance to meet all their colleagues away from the
pressures of the office.
When lunch was over the group was divided into teams
of five and then given a briefing for the afternoon
taxi treasure hunt. The first challenge was to discover
the names of some of the great historic and cultural
locations of London from a set of cryptic clues. When
this was done teams were each allocated a classic black
London taxi to take them to these famous places using
the skill and knowledge of the driver who was involved
in his own contest with his colleagues. At the different
places the teams had to undertake photographic and scavenger
challenges using all their skills and ‘artistic’
resources for which they could gain good bonus points.
The event was timed and the teams had to reach their
finish venue within a specific allocated time. The venue
was a top West End bar where a private area was reserved
so that the teams could enjoy good refreshments and
compare notes with a good deal of banter whilst the
marks for each team were calculated. The results were
announced and reference made to some of the more interesting,
imaginative or outlandish offerings and the prizes awarded
amidst a lot of audience participation!!
The clients were delighted with the results and sent
the following feedback:“Thank you very much for
everything you organised, it has been a great success
and not much work is getting done as we are all constantly
talking about it! The landmarks you took us to and the
finds we had to hunt down were brilliant and everyone
had a wonderful time.”
