VENUE: West End of London
CLIENT: International Bank
EVENT: Treasure Hunt as part of induction course |

|
The client has an annual graduate intern group who undertake
an induction course prior to being allocated to a specific department.
The majority of this time is spent doing in-house training and
office experience but the HR director needs to see how the individuals
interact in a less formal environment that will highlight specific
skills. The treasure hunt has now become this key element in
the yearly process and proves highly successful.
The event commences after lunch at the head office in Canary
Wharf with an introduction and briefing. The group then proceeds
to the nearby water taxi for a trip up river to the West End
and the beginning of the event.
The teams have four objectives to be undertaken simultaneously
highlighting the need to delegate specific tasks to individual
team members whilst keeping together at all times. The four
stages are cryptic clues, photographic clues, paparazzi and
scavenger challenge. All these require different skills but
reward initiative and imagination.
The finish venue is a bar in Soho with a private area where
a buffet is served after which there is the announcement of
the results and prize giving. The event consistently creates
a spirit of teamwork and good-humoured rivalry that is enjoyed
by all participants. The HR department also gains much knowledge
about individuals, which is of great assistance in their planning
and have repeated this exercise successfully over a number of
years.
